We appreciate your interest in a Knight-Wallace Journalism Fellowship at the University of Michigan! 

After creating your OpenWater account, please make sure to choose the correct application form in the drop down menu depending on your citizenship. If you are a U.S. citizen, apply as a U.S. applicant, even if you work in another country or for a non–U.S. journalism entity. If you are not a U.S. citizen, apply as an international applicant, even if you work in the United States or for an American journalism entity. A Green Card is not the same as citizenship. International applicants uploaded in the U.S. portal will not be considered. If you hold dual passports from the U.S. and another country and have questions about which application to submit, please email apply2kwf@umich.edu for further instruction.

• International applications are due December 1, 2024                                                                                                                                                      The deadline for the submission of international applications is due to the length of the visa process. Non-US citizens who submit an application in the U.S. portal will not be considered.

• U.S. applications, including Arts Journalism Fellowship, are due February 1, 2025
